God knows I am a mess! A big one for that matter. And when I do one very foolish thing that I usually confess about, I feel guilty for confessing the same sins over and over again. Sometimes, I feel God may be disappointed in me. Sometimes, I imagine He may be tired of hearing me confess the same sins. I can remember sharing my frustrations and struggle with a friend and told him, "I guess God will be disappointed that I have failed to attain discipline and self-control in this area of my life. He must really be tired of these my frequent confessions". He smiled and told me, "Nah, He's not".

This year, I have learnt and I am still learning a great deal about God's unwavering and unfailing love, His undeserving mercy and His ever abundant grace. Two Saturdays ago, I sat under a teaching on "Avoiding the Judas' tragedy" One of the errors I learnt Judas made was that he never knew the way of repentance. Yes, He betrayed His master, friend, and teacher. He did something very stupid  selling Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Really, was that all Jesus was worth? Despite that, he could have repented and asked God for forgiveness. Instead, he pronounced judgement on himself and committed suicide. He couldn't stand the guilt.

Don't we do this daily? We hang ourselves because of our sins. We feel we have let ourselves, our loved ones, our church family and God down and hence we sentence ourselves to die in the guilt. I am learning that no sin is enough to take a man out of God's forgiveness. Oh dear, Grace still speaks! Mercy is still available!! Do you remember David? He committed one of the biggest atrocities in the Bible. But he knew the way of repentance. He knew something about God's forgiveness that Judas didn't know. He ran to God for mercy. No wonder God described him as a man after His heart. What of Samson? He was meant to deliver his people from the oppression of the Philistines. He failed God and his people just because of a woman. But that fateful day, few mins away from his death, he lifted his eyes before heaven and said, "I know I failed you God. But, please...one more chance. Just give me one more chance to fulfill purpose" And the Bible recorded that Samson killed more people at his death than he had killed during his entire lifetime.

Dearest, I don't know what you may have done or failed to do, which you feel is the worst thing you have ever done or the biggest sin you have ever committed. Heaven wants you to know today that:

Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God's grace. And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God's grace

I have resolved in my heart that no matter what I do, not even if i take a life, i will NEVER allow the devil, or guilt or shame to prevent me from flying to the throne of grace - the Mercy Seat, when I still have the chance. And I'm inviting you to do same.

Grace and mercy still speak!! YOU ARE ETERNALLY LOVED!
